Standard grade is Victorian Ash / Tasmanian Oak: clean, pale, takes any finish. Designer grades bring character: Wormy Chestnut's grain story, Australian Chestnut's depth. Premium grades, American Oak and Spotted Gum, are for doors that anchor the whole façade. Samples at the showroom; take them home and hold them against the brickwork.

Scale, proportion and intent. An architectural entrance door is designed as part of the building sized to the opening rather than trimmed from stock, patterned to speak to the façade, specified in a timber chosen for the project. It's the difference between a door that fills a hole and a door the architecture was drawn around.
In practice that means made-to-order manufacture. Every NORTH, HAZE, EMBER, BONE and EVEN is built for its opening at 7 Nelson Street, Moorabbin, there is no stock size and no warehouse.
Every design in the range is available both ways. Hinged is the default, familiar hardware, standard jambs, suits most openings. Pivot moves the rotation point in from the edge and lets the door go far larger: on FritsJurgens System M+ hardware we build to 3.6m tall and 500kg. Two panel systems run across the range: Vision (a glazed panel set into the pattern) and HALO (a slimmer glazed treatment). On EVEN, WEAVE adds mixed-species battens: Victorian Ash against Spotted Gum is the classic pairing. Sidelights and full surrounds are handled as part of an entrance transformation.
Timber doors leave the workshop factory sanded, ready for the finish coat. Most clients clear-coat or oil to keep the species visible. Plan on refreshing the finish every 3–5 years depending on exposure, that's the deal with real timber, and a covered entry extends it considerably.
