Designed. Engineered. Built in Moorabbin.

A Melbourne door design and manufacturing company founded by Nik and Olivia Kulas.

— Who We Are

Most businesses do one thing.

Most companies in the door industry sell what someone else built. They tick a box on a catalogue, order a door, mark it up, and move on. The product wasn't designed for the conditions it ends up in, the timber wasn't selected for the project, the engineering wasn't thought through. That's where problems start.

We built Bespoke Doors to do it differently. We design every door, we engineer every door, and we manufacture every door at our workshop in Moorabbin. We choose the timber. We work out the structure. We build the door as a complete system — door, frame, sidelights, threshold, sealing — engineered together, made together.

We work with homeowners doing renovations and we work with architects, designers, and builders running larger projects. If you've got drawings and a door schedule, we'll build to spec and provide shop drawings before anything gets made. If you've just got a front door that needs replacing, that works too.

Founders. Owners. Hands on the work.

Nik runs design, engineering, and the workshop floor. Olivia runs the business — quotes, scheduling, customer relationships, the part of the company you'll talk to first when you call (03) 9003 8393. Between them they own every door we make.

Bespoke Doors started because Nik kept watching beautifully designed homes get fitted with doors that didn't deserve them. Doors that warped, leaked, dropped, peeled, or just looked like they came off a generic supplier's truck. The problem wasn't the homes. The problem was that nobody was actually engineering the front door as a system. Bespoke Doors is the company that does.

— How We Work

From conversation to finished door.

Conversation

You send us your project — photos, plans, dimensions, what you're trying to achieve. Or you call. Or come down to the showroom on a Saturday. The first contact is always a conversation, not a transaction. We work out what kind of door makes sense for your opening, your facade, your conditions, and your budget.

Site visit (where it makes sense)

For projects that need it — heritage openings, renovations, oversized entries, anything where the existing context matters — we come out and look. Take measurements properly. See what's actually in the way. Site consultations are $99 and credited to your project if you proceed.

Design and engineering

For standard doors from the configurator, the design is set and we lock the spec from your live configuration. For bespoke and custom work, we design from your brief, work out the structural approach, and provide shop drawings before anything gets cut. Architects sign the drawings off, builders get a clean reference.

Manufacture

Every door is built at 7 Nelson Street, Moorabbin. Standard architectural doors run 6–8 weeks. StormBloc™ runs 28 days from deposit. Bespoke pivots run 8–12 weeks. We schedule conservatively to hit the lead time and we communicate progress along the way.

Delivery

The door comes out of the workshop as a complete unit — door, frame, sidelights, threshold, sealing — built together to consistent tolerances. Ready for the trade fitter to drop in.

— What Drives Us

Our focus

Build door systems that perform as well as they look. Every material, every engineering decision, every construction method gets tested against one question: will this door still work properly in five years?

— Where We're Headed

The reference point

To become Melbourne's reference point for architectural entrance doors, pivot systems, and engineered external doors. Not the biggest operation. Not the cheapest. The one people trust.

— Who We Work With

Direct partnerships across timber and pivot technology.

Talk to us. It's the best way.

A door is one of those things best worked out in conversation — your opening, your facade, the look you're after, what's in the way. Send us your details or come down to the showroom on a Saturday.
