The terms that apply when you ask us for a quote, order a door, or have one of ours installed.
These terms apply between Bespoke Doors and you, the customer, when you request a quote, place an order, or take delivery of a door manufactured by us. We've kept the language plain. If anything's unclear, ask — we'd rather explain than have you sign something you don't follow.
Quotes we provide via this website, by email, or in person are indicative based on the information you've shared at the time. They're valid for 30 days from issue unless we say otherwise. A quote becomes a binding order only when you accept it in writing and pay the deposit.
If your project changes after the quote is issued — different size, different timber, different hardware, additional sidelights, structural variations — we'll requote. Pricing on the website (e.g. configurator output) is a guide, not a final price.
Orders are confirmed when we've received your deposit. Standard deposit is 50% of the quoted total. The balance is due before delivery or installation, whichever comes first.
Indicative lead times by product:
Lead times start from deposit receipt and are estimates, not contractual. We'll communicate any delays as soon as we know about them. Standard causes of delay include timber supply, weather affecting transport, third-party hardware availability, and customer-driven changes mid-build.
Every door is designed, engineered, and built at our workshop at 7 Nelson Street, Moorabbin. We select materials, run quality checks at each manufacturing stage, and finish each door to a standard we'd put on our own home. If something doesn't meet that standard, it doesn't leave the workshop.
Bespoke Doors manufactures doors. Installation is coordinated separately through Doors Replaced, our installation partner. Where your project includes installation, the installation contract is between you and Doors Replaced, governed by their separate terms. Bespoke Doors is responsible for the manufacture and supply of the door; Doors Replaced is responsible for the installation.
Architectural timber doors are supplied factory-sanded, ready for the homeowner's painter or finisher to topcoat. We don't provide a painting service. Pre-primed pine doors are supplied ready for paint. StormBloc™ doors are factory-finished in Colorbond steel and require no further painting.
We warrant our manufactured doors against defects in materials and workmanship for the following periods from delivery date:
The warranty covers manufacturing defects. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper installation by parties other than Doors Replaced, exposure beyond the door's rated environment, customer-applied finishes that fail (we don't paint), or normal wear from heavy use over time. Painted timber doors require maintenance per our care guidelines and warranty assumes that maintenance has been performed.
Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply in addition to and not in place of this warranty. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
If you change the specification after deposit, we'll quote the variation and confirm in writing before proceeding. Variations may affect lead time and price.
Cancellations after manufacturing has started incur a cancellation charge equal to materials already committed plus labour to the point of cancellation. Cancellations before materials are ordered are at our discretion and may incur a deposit-handling charge.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the supply of a replacement door or a refund of the purchase price, at our election. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g. delay-related costs, lost rent, accommodation costs) beyond what is required by Australian Consumer Law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute arising from these terms or from the supply of a door is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
We may update these terms occasionally. The version current at the time of your quote or order is the version that applies to that order. The current version is always available at this URL.
