Horizontal Western Red Cedar lining boards on a 1600 × 2400mm pivot — engineered with EverFrame™ for the weight and the swing.
The brief at Balwyn was an entrance that matched the scale of the home — large, dramatic, contemporary, but built so it'd still operate cleanly through Melbourne summers and winters.
We made the door at 1600mm wide by 2400mm high. Horizontal Western Red Cedar lining boards on the face. The internal structure is reinforced with our EverFrame™ system — that's the steel reinforcement that lets timber doors of this size stay flat over time. Without it, oversized timber pivots warp.
Mounted on a FritsJurgens System One pivot — concealed, smooth, capable of handling the weight without sag. Sealed with brass perimeter seals at the base for the weather. The cedar itself does the visual work; everything else stays out of the way.
The result is a striking entrance that suits the architecture and operates the way a door this size should — quietly, evenly, with no compromise. This is the door we point to when someone asks what we can do.
