Black Rock batten — pre-primed pine for paint, ready for the topcoat.

Black Rock — second project for the same homeowner. They wanted a pre-primed timber entrance with a sidelight, ready for a painter to come in and topcoat in the colour of their choice.

We built the door with a vertical batten profile on a 40mm timber core. Sidelight on the hinge side, clear vision glass, full-height. The door, jamb, and Merbau sill came out of the workshop factory-sanded and pre-primed — ready for paint, no fuss.

The Merbau sill ties the assembly together at the base and handles the weather. The clear sidelight pulls light into the entry hall in the morning. It's a pragmatic build — solid timber where it counts, simple where it doesn't.
