The original entry had been patched with plywood for years. We replaced it with a Vic Ash NORTH and a full clear-glass sidelight — the entry hall has natural light for the first time in decades.
When we got there, the entry had been patched up with plywood panels where the sidelights used to be. Years of that. Dark, closed-off, and with no architectural read at all.
We replaced the lot. New Vic Ash NORTH lining-board door with a full clear-glass sidelight on the hinge side. The plywood went out, the sidelight glass went in, and suddenly the hallway had natural light from sunrise on.
The Vic Ash was supplied factory-sanded for the homeowner's painter to finish on site. The clear glass on the sidelight pulls morning light deep into the home. The before-and-after on this one says everything — went from a dark, closed-off entry to something you'd actually want to walk through.
