Sorrento is bushfire country. The previous door — a 1970s slider — wasn't BAL compliant. We replaced it with a 1200 × 2040mm Australian Chestnut, EverFrame-reinforced, dense timber that chars rather than combusts.
Sorrento is bushfire country. The building code requires BAL (Bushfire Attack Level) compliance for any door in the zone, and the door has to be tested and rated to meet it. The previous owners had a 1970s sliding door at the front entrance — not BAL compliant, not secure, not really anything.
We replaced it with a 1200 × 2040mm Australian Chestnut entrance door, 42mm thick, reinforced internally with our EverFrame™ steel system. Australian Chestnut is dense and stable — when bushfire-rated, it chars rather than combusts, which is what the BAL assessor's looking for.
Lining-board face profile. Custom architectural finish supplied factory-sanded. The new entry transformed the facade — went from a dark 70s slider to something that actually belongs on a Sorrento property and meets the compliance the location demands.
