Custom Timber Entry Doors Made in Moorabbin
Solid Timber · Made to Measure · Built in Melbourne

Custom timber entry doors, built to your opening.

We're door makers. Every timber entry door we sell is built in our own workshop at 7 Nelson Street, Moorabbin, from full-length boards, to the size of your opening, in the timber you pick.

Made, not cut down

A timber door built for your front door.

Most timber entry doors sold in Melbourne are stock sizes, made somewhere else, trimmed to fit your frame. Trim a stock door and you cut into the edge that keeps the weather out.

Ours start from your opening. Width, height, pattern, timber, glazing, hinged or pivot. Then the door is built from scratch in Moorabbin by the same small team that drew it, and nothing gets trimmed to fit.

Pick your timber

Five timbers. All on the showroom wall.

01

Victorian Ash / Tasmanian Oak

Our standard. Pale, even grain that takes a clear finish or a stain well. Most of the doors in our projects are this timber.

02

Wormy & Australian Chestnut

Designer grade. Warmer colour and more character in the grain. Australian Chestnut also suits bushfire-zone doors.

03

American Oak & Spotted Gum

Premium grade. Flat American Oak boards are one of our signature looks. Spotted Gum is the hard, dense Australian option.

Come and see the real boards at 7 Nelson Street, Moorabbin, or take samples home to hold against your house.

How we build them

The bits you can't see are the bits that last.

  • Full-length boards. A lot of our doors are 2.4m and 2.7m tall, and the boards run the full height, so the face has no joins.
  • Hardwood edge strips. Every lining board door gets a 10mm strip down both edges, through the full thickness, so the edge that takes the knocks and the weather is solid timber.
  • Steel inside the big ones. Any leaf over 1200mm wide gets our EverFrame steel frame inside it, stiles and rails, so it stays straight.
  • Ready for a drop seal. The groove is cut in the factory, so the seal sits right.

Straight answers

Custom timber entry doors, the questions people ask

Timber or StormBloc?

Honest answer: no timber door on the market is truly low maintenance. If your entry sits under a porch, verandah or awning, a well-built timber door is a beautiful choice and will last for decades with a recoat every few years.

If the door cops full sun and rain with no cover, we'll tell you to look at StormBloc, the Colorbond-clad engineered door we also make. It never needs painting and it doesn't swell. We'd rather sell you the right door than the dearer one.

How long does a custom timber entry door take?

6 to 8 weeks from deposit. Timber pivot doors take 8 to 12 weeks.

Do the doors come finished?

Timber doors leave the workshop factory sanded, ready for your painter or finisher. We don't offer a painting service.

Do you install?

We're the manufacturer. Installation within about 30km of Moorabbin is coordinated through our install partner Doors Replaced: one quote, one point of contact.

Can you supply outside Melbourne or interstate?

Yes. We supply anywhere in Australia and organise the freight, ready for your own builder or carpenter to hang.

I'm an architect or builder. Can you work from plans?

Yes. Send the door schedule or plans through the quote page and we'll price what's drawn. We build the doors the usual supplier says can't be done.

Do you make bushfire-rated timber doors?

Yes, for BAL zones we build timber entry doors to your assessment. See BAL-rated front doors.

Your opening. Your timber.
